QUALITY STANDARDS AND APPROVALS

 

Through its policy of total quality, APEM has earned the widest range of international certifications and approvals for both its facilities and products : APEM is a certified ISO 9001 Manufacturer. It operate and produces in conformity to the most stringent security, quality and ESD standards of Europe and North America. Thus, It makes it easier for its customers to export.

A. QUALITY SYSTEM

APEM is ISO 9001 certified by the French Agency AFAQ (certificate N°1992/776b).

In addition to the 20 chapters covered by the ISO 9001 standard, APEM also applies a quality policy to sales, administrative and environmental protection activities.

Among other certificates validating the APEM quality system is the CECC certificate of approval of manufacturer EN 100 114-1 (N°00895) delivered by the European CECC (Cenelec Electronic Components Committee) and the ECQAC (Electronic Components Quality Assurance Committee). This certificate is a necessary condition to obtain product quality approvals according to CECC standards.


B. TEST LABORATORY
APEM works and test laboratory are qualified by the following certification agencies to carry out approval and/or periodical tests according to applicable standards :
  • VDE agency (Germany) : VDE 0630 or EN 61058-1 standard (new European standard) applicable to switches for appliances.
  • UL agency (USA) : UL 1054 standard.
  • CSA agency (Canada) : CSA 22-2 N°55.
  • UTE agency (Union Technique de l’Electricité France) : NFC 61120 or EN 61058-1 standard (new European standard) applicable to switches for appliances.
  • CECC agency : CECC 96000 standard applicable to switches for electronic equipment.

Note : the CECC 96000 standard, more severe than equivalent IEC 1020 international standard, was chosen by APEM.

  • ESA agency (European Space Agency) : 3701 standard applicable to switches for space applications.
C. SAFETY STANDARDS APPLICABLE TO SWITCHES

Note : all mains equipment intended to be sold in the Europe have to meet the requirements of the "Low Level" European directive.

Consequently, the choice of a switch approved to the European Safety Standards (VDE, NF, etc...) makes it easier to get CE conformity for the equipment on which the switch is mounted.
